The Auckland Downwind Winter Series: Race 2 was set to start at 14.20 today - but weather was not permitting.
A MetService "strong wind" weather warning was in place for the Colvil Marine Area with winds of SW 30 Knots gusting to 40 knots this morning, easing to 25 knots gusting to 35 knots in the late afternoon. The organisers reported some great runs on Saturday in similar conditions. However the Metservice warning remained in place, the safety boats were not able to get out - so racing has been postponed until Sunday 14th August.

If the weather's OK next time, Terry will be down at the Akarana Yacht Club with the NEW Nelo 560 and 520 Surfskis. Designed by Oscar Chalupsky are seriously great looking boats which are getting awesome reviews from around the world. Give him a yell if you'd like to have a test paddle before then.
See the Pacific Paddlers facebook page for full details as they come to hand.
