A dream day of racing for the NZ Reps, Lisa Carrington and Marty McDowell. Both have made it into their A finals, making Day 1 an exciting day of racing for any Kiwi.
Marty places forth in his Heat
Marty placed fourth in the 3rd Heat of the Senior Mens K1 1000m division, despite what looked like a slow start out of the blocks.
It was a race of two halves, with Dostal (CZE), Pimenta (POR) and Roza (ESP) finishing quite close together, leaving significant clear water between them and the main group. Marty lead the rest of the pack, finishing in 4:10.796, 28.552 secs behind the leader.
